8 Outfits That Make for Amazing (and Affordable) Halloween Costumes

These easy Halloween costumes are adorable and you’ll be able to wear them again and again!

Remember the good ol' days when an epic Halloween costume was a white sheet with two holes cut out for eyes? Those days are long gone, and now it seems like everyone has turned into a crazed Halloween maniacs who are willing to spend hundreds of dollars on a get up they’ll wear for about five hours of their lives.

Is it too much to ask to be able to partake in the festivities without blowing our whole savings account?

No, no it's not. We rounded up some ideas that are low-commitment, inexpensive, clothes you can use again. Read on for some fashionable, easy Halloween costumes you'll be wearing long past October 31st!

Zebra Stripes

Everyone has black and white in their closet. Be inventive by adding a tail and turn a striped sweater or tube dress into a fun zebra costume.

Tomato Soup

Wear some matching brick red tights and add some temporary felt stickers to spell out "Tomato Soup" on this cute little corduroy dress and you'll be the hit of the Halloween party... because, really, who doesn't love tomato soup? Bonus points if you have a friend who will dress up as a grilled cheese.

A Snake

Halloween is the only time that it's appropriate to be a snake in the grass! Grab some retractable fangs to complete this costume... and then wear this chic snakeskin dress for the rest of the fall and winter. Animal print is totally on trend right now!

Leopard

Speaking of animal print… We’re totally in love with this tiered leopard satin dress! When you add some black tights and these cute lace cat ears, you’ve got yourself a costume.

Fairy

If you're on the hunt for a feminine costume, going as a fairy fits the bill. All you need is a flowery light colored dress (like this cute crochet number) and some cool wings. Throw on a white sweater and some tights if it's cold out. Don't forget the fairie dust!

Hippie

This outfit consisting of some flare leg pants and a tie-dye kimono from our favorite fall outfits list is right on trend... but also a total blast from the past. We'll be wearing it all autumn long — but when you add some round glasses, a boho headband and a peace sign necklace, you'll be totally groovy for Halloween!

A Deer

All it takes is a nice neutral beige dress and some whimsical deer antlers to transform yourself into a faun! Wear some fake eyelashes for that "doe eyed" look.

Gray Mouse

Add some cute mouse ears to this fuzzy sweater and you're in business. (With this set, you have the option of getting a tail too if you pay a little more.) It's a super cozy costume, and you get to go around saying what's arguably the most epic Mean Girls quote of all time. "I'm a mouse... Duh!"

Wicked Witch of the West

Take an LBD from everyday get-up to straight out of Oz when you add some green and black striped tights and a traditional pointy witch hat with a green band. Kick things up a notch with some vivid green eyeshadow. Toss on a black cape, and that's perfection. Hopefully it doesn't rain, because you'll be melllllltinggggg!!!!
